Tetra offers 2 different types of heat pumps, both of which are fueled by electricity.

Condenser

Central Heat Pump

A heat pump uses refrigeration technology and electricity to provide both heating and cooling for your home. In heating mode, the heat pump extracts heat from the air outside your home, and in cooling mode, it does the opposite—it transfers heat out of your home and returns cool air inside. Heat pumps can be ducted, like central ac, or ductless like a mini-split. Heat pumps offer the highest efficiency rates (as high as 300%) of any heating/cooling appliance.

Ductless Mini Split

A ductless mini split is a smart way to cool a room without having to install ductwork, or install and remove window units each year. Ductless mini splits also have an indoor and outdoor component, but the indoor component goes directly in the room you want to cool. Ductless mini splits are best for heating/cooling smaller spaces or single rooms. However, you can install up to 8 indoor units per compressor for zoned heating and cooling.

What will my new heat pump cost?

Heat pump costs and heat pump installation costs vary depending on the model, efficiency rating, and other factors. Tetra’s experts are ready to talk you through our heat pump for sale and help you choose the best heat pump for your home.

Benefits of a new system

More space

Mini splits heat and cool your home, eliminating the need for separate furnace, boiler, and AC systems.

Custom heating and cooling

Older air conditioners can be noisy, especially when their fans start to wear and tear. New ac technology is quieter than ever—comparable to the sound of your refrigerator.

Consistent comfort

As your air conditioner ages, you'll start to notice temperature fluctuations or increased humidity. A newer system cools your home evenly so it's always comfortable.

Signs it’s time to upgrade

Your system is more than 10 years old

Older systems are more likely to have issues and they cost more to run. Plus, technology has improved dramatically in the past 10 years.

You see an increase in your energy bill

When your system isn’t working efficiently, it uses more energy than normal, and costs more to run.

Your system is louder than before

Strange noises usually mean you need a repair or they’re a sign of a failing system. If your heat pump is on the older side, consider a replacement rather than another fix.

Your home is hotter or cooler than before

This is another sign that your system isn’t working efficiently. If your existing system isn’t doing its job, it’s time for a replacement.

High-efficiency appliances can make your home more comfortable and significantly reduce your energy bills. If you're upgrading to a high-efficiency appliance, incentive programs, like Mass Save, offer rebates to make the cost more manageable.
