Tetra installs two kinds of cooling systems.

Multi-zone mini split

A multi-zone mini split system includes an outdoor component and an indoor component, connected by a series of refrigeration lines. You can purchase up to 7 indoor units per outdoor unit for whole-home heating and cooling. Multi-zone units are ideal if you want the efficiency of heat pump technology but cannot install ductwork, or if you want highly-customizable heating and cooling throughout your home.

Single-Zone Mini Split

A single-zone mini split system also includes an outdoor component and an indoor component, connected by a series of refrigeration lines. These systems come with one indoor unit that will heat and cool one room or area in your home. Additional zones cannot be added to a single-zone unit. Single zone units are ideal for small homes, or hot/cold spots like sunrooms and upper-floor bedrooms.

Benefits of a new system

More space

Upgrading your mini split means better air quality. New units have top-rate filters that rid your home of airborne dust particles, bacteria, fungi, and microbes.

Custom heating and cooling

Older mini split can be noisy, especially when their fans start to wear and tear. New technology is quieter than ever—comparable to the sound of your refrigerator.

Consistent comfort

As your mini split ages, you'll start to notice fluctuations or hot and cold spots. A newer system heats and cools your home evenly so it's always comfortable.

Signs it’s time to upgrade

Your mini split is more than 15 years old

Older mini splits are more likely to have issues and they cost more to run. Plus, technology has improved dramatically in the past 10 years.

You see an increase in your energy bill

When your mini split isn’t working efficiently, it uses more energy than normal, and costs more to run.

Your mini split is noisier than before.

Strange noises usually mean you need a repair or they’re a sign of a failing system. If your mini split is on the older side, consider a replacement rather than another fix.

Your home is hotter than it before

This is another sign that your mini split isn’t working efficiently. If your mini split isn’t doing its job, it’s time for a replacement.

Save thousands when you upgrade

High-efficiency appliances can make your home more comfortable and significantly reduce your energy bills. If you're upgrading to a high-efficiency appliance, incentive programs, like Mass Save, offer rebates to make the cost more manageable.

Tetra gets you available rebates before installation day for a huge upfront discount. No paperwork, no waiting, no fuss.

Frequently asked questions

When will you install my system?

We can install your system as soon as 7 days after you put down your deposit.

Who is doing the installation?

One of Tetra's fully vetted, top-quality installers will handle the job. We only work with the best local pros.

Will I be charged extra if something unexpected happens on installation day?

No. Our pricing is firm. We’ll confirm the cost of your project after your walkthrough and there will be no changes in price after that point—no matter what happens on installation day.

How does the warranty work? If there are any issues, who do I call? Does Tetra fix it? What’s covered?

Your warranty kicks in as soon as your system is installed. Please note, your warranty is through the manufacturer of your system, not through Tetra. Coverage varies depending on the manufacturer, so you’ll need to check your specific warranty to see what’s covered. You don’t have to pay for anything that’s covered under your warranty.

Many warranties require things like online registration or proof of annual maintenance, so it’s smart to check the details of your warranty right away. If you ever have issues with your system or questions about your warranty, please give us a call at (413) 930-4281.

You haven’t been to my house. How do you know what I need?

We can make specific recommendations based on the information you provided and our experience installing hundreds of systems. Plus, the pre-installation walkthrough gives us an opportunity to confirm the recommendation.

How much does it cost to run the system on a monthly basis?

Monthly costs vary based on usage, the number of people in your household, and other factors. However, homeowners who install energy-efficient appliances report energy cost savings of 25% or higher.
